CTG is currently seeking multiple (5) technical writers with 2-5 years experience dealing with software/hardware writing for professional manuals like guides and references. The opening is for our client which is one of the largest IT companies in the world, located in the southeast Tucson area. The contract is for a renewable 1 year period. The pay is 40-60K DOE.
Job Description: The writers would be part of a peak performing team developing customer information using Darwin Information Type Architecture (DITA). The writer must be a team player willing to partner with developers, testers, support folks and Interaction Design teams to design and develop the right information for our customers. The position also requires excellent communication and writing skills, and outstanding planning and organization skills. Qualified candidates must have experience creating customer documentation and online help for software products.
Required Skills
- Familiarity with editors such as FrameMaker or Adept Editor
- Experience with Adobe products
- Experience with SGML, DITA, HTML, or RoboHelp would be a plus
- 2+ years experience with customer documentation for software products
Note: Prospective candidates will be asked to take part in a short 30 minutes skills assessment and to provide writing samples.

Ventana Medical Systems has an urgent need for a contract person or people who have skills in FrameMaker as well as structured document development, who can start immediately. Documentation that is developed will be suitable for publishing in print, electronic delivery, and context sensitive help.
- Technical background for professional documentation (that is, non-consumer)
- Work entails both user instructions and service instructions
- Anticipated duration - two to four months
- Local to Tucson highly preferred: the successful candidate will need to spend some time on site at Ventana, discussing the product with development staff
